“I developed ‘Tasting Colour’ workshops to create the students’ poems in an exploration of synaesthetic metaphor & colour; I aim for students to develop independent facilitating skills with the Artists & lead the audience through the participatory ‘Tasting Colour’ workshops. Disabled & non-disabled participants engage in a crossmodal and experiential journey.”
— Amy Neilson Smith, Creative Director

Creative Director Amy Neilson Smith developed ‘Tasting Colour’ workshops to entice our visually impaired young artists explore the alternative metaphorical world of colour through taste, smell & touch, as they are gently induced with 'synaethesia!

The ‘metaphorical wizards’ developed independent facilitating skills with the adult Disabled Artists and  independently lead the audience through the participatory ‘Tasting Colour’ workshops, live, at the full flavoured launch! IT WAS TASTE-TASTIC! The national newspapers told us so! Disabled and non-disabled artists and audiences, engaged in a crossmodal and experiential journey, soaring through the hearts and minds of our disabled artists and their incredible stories!

Amy is an innovator and founder of the newly created role ‘Sensory Poetry Educator’ (developed on her MA Educational Masters at Goldsmiths) and uses sensory movement, dance and physical theatre to create a new performance-based Research and Development to explore the fuller use of the body in space and the possibility of kinaesthetic communication. (Oooooooerrr! Posh sensory stuff!)
